Vibrating seat done! That wasn’t too bad. Last necessity, installing the car seat. That’s where I draw the line. Need to wait for the hubby to get home from work for that one!

We are running out of time. So now we are concentrating on the necessities before baby arrives. The bassinet was one of them. I am so proud because I put this together all by myself!

On the agenda tonight, the little vibrating seat. I secretly always wish that when I pull it out of the box it is miraculously put together. It never seems to work out that way though.

Had a great maternity session on Friday. Phil is always such a good sport when it comes to these kind of things. Let’s face it, no man likes posing in front of a camera for over an hour. We can’t wait to see all the final photos!

Watching the party cars roll in next door. 2 thoughts…

  • Why wouldn’t the teenage boys next door have a party on the first summer-like night of the year?
  • That fact that this annoys me, is a true sign I am really getting old!

It’s 75 degrees and gorgeous out today. And what am I doing? Trying to make sense of this baby disaster of a house. They say to not feel like you have to get everything put away and organized before the baby comes. But when you have a small house like us, you have no choice. I can’t wait until I can see our living room floor again!

23 years…

That is how long I have been a member of the Bright Raven Gymnastics family. But all good things must come to an end right? I guess at least mine is for a very joyful reason. Tonight was my last night teaching my little ones most likely forever. As much as I would love to go back after baby, I have to be realistic in the fact that it’s going to be difficult enough to juggle a pretty demanding full-time job and being a new mommy.

I consider myself to be a pretty well-balanced, successful person and while that is obviously a product of my upbringing, I 100% believe that being involved in gymnastics from such a young age has a lot to do with it as well. It teaches you an unbelievable amount of discipline, hard work ethic and a sense of accomplishment. All things that I have carried into my adult life. Thanks to Mom, Dad and Grandma Lily for getting me involved at age 7.

Continuing to pack the hospital bag. It’s quite different than packing for a vacation!

Happy Birthday to one of my best friends, Amanda! I know, old picture…it’s the only one that was already saved on my work computer :)

I’m having a girl…and dressing her in pink!

As we approach my baby shower this weekend, a few people have randomly asked the question, if Phil and I plan to have more children. Geez, can we let the first get here safe and healthy please??? But it’s fine, I normally don’t get offended by those kinds of questions. So I answered, yes we do plan on having more children (not sure if it’s just one more, but the max would be 2, we will see)!

But then the real reason they were asking came out, which surprised me. “If you plan on having more children, why is everything on your registry pink?”. My response…ummm, because we are having a girl. Their response was, well what if any of your future children are boys? Then you can’t reuse anything. Here is what I say to that…I completely understand the need to be economical, however there are quite a few conditions that need to be met before we would even need to start worrying about if we can reuse anything. First, we need to be fortunate enough to be able to get pregnant again. Just because you may have had an easy go of it the first time, does not mean that will be the case every time. Second, if we are blessed enough to have another child, it would need to be a boy! And considering we have a total of 1 boy in our entire family (on both sides) that does not seem likely.

So for now, I will have fun buying lot’s of girly-looking clothes and will have pink swings, high chairs, car seats, and strollers.
